Our clients wanted to bring a bright and airy feel to a hallway that was pretty dark and closed in. The colour scheme when they moved in did not make the most of the space and did not give the first impression to their home that they wanted. We had a good talk about the effect they were trying to achieve and looked at some samples that would work well in the space. The client decided that some pattern on the wall would lift the space but did not want something that would be overwhelming. They decided on two different grey tones, with the pattern reflected in both designs to give some cohesion to the space.
The walls were stripped and prepared and all woodwork rubbed down. We then hung the wallpaper in the hall and up the stairs, making a feature of the wall opposite the door. All woodwork was painted in a clean and bright white to really lift the paper. The finished look was a bright, open and welcoming space and the clients were delighted with the final look, it certainly made the great first impression they were looking for!
